64GB SD card not detected – data recovered the next day
The problem
His 64GB SD card stopped being detected, with his data on it.
He brought it to our lab on 11 October 2026.
The result
The data was recovered and handed back the next day, 12 October 2026.
“Great experience is with data expert, my corrupted SD card data recovered.”
Why SD cards stop being detected
SD and microSD cards fail in a few common ways: the file system gets corrupted (the phone or camera says the card is damaged), the controller inside the card fails (the card is not detected at all or shows the wrong size), or the card is physically cracked.
Monolithic microSD cards have the controller and memory in one sealed package, so chip-level work is more delicate. Phones and cameras that keep retrying a bad card can make things worse.
If this happens to you
- Take the card out of the phone or camera and stop using it.
- Don't format it, even if the device asks.
- Don't try another card reader again and again.

Frequently asked questions
My SD card is not detected. Can photos be recovered?
Often yes. A controller fault or file-system damage still leaves the photos on the memory. Stop using the card and get it checked.
My phone says the SD card is damaged and asks to format it. Should I?
No. Formatting makes recovery harder. Take the card out and get it checked.
How long does SD card recovery take?
Simple cases are often done in a day. Chip-level cases take longer; you get the estimate with the quote.
Every recovery depends on the condition of the device. This case describes one customer's result in their own words; your diagnosis tells you what is possible for yours.
