Samsung SSD Data Recovery in Pune
Samsung makes some of the most popular SSDs in India — the 860 and 870 EVO SATA drives, the 970, 980 and 990 NVMe drives, and the T5 and T7 portable SSDs. They are reliable, but when one fails it often gives no warning. Our lab at Kalewadi Phata recovers data from Samsung SSDs for customers across Pune and PCMC. Diagnosis is free, the exact price comes before any work, and if no data is recovered you pay nothing.

- Portable: T5, T7, T7 Touch, T7 Shield, T9.
Common Samsung SSD problems
| Symptom | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Not detected in BIOS or Windows | Controller, firmware or power-circuit failure |
| Files fail to copy, CRC errors, growing "bad blocks" | NAND wear or errors — some 870 EVO units were widely reported to develop such errors early |
| Became read-only or health dropped fast (980 PRO) | A known 2023 firmware issue on some 980 PRO drives; Samsung released a firmware fix — but update only after your data is safe |
| Laptop says "No bootable device" | Failed SSD or damaged boot area |
| T7 portable not detected | USB bridge, connector or the internal NVMe SSD has failed |
| Deleted files or formatted SSD | Time-critical because of TRIM — power off immediately |
Before you do anything
- Do not run firmware updates, "secure erase" or Samsung Magician repair functions on an SSD that holds data you need.
- Do not keep power-cycling an SSD that disappears.
- After deleting or formatting, shut down at once — TRIM can wipe the data in minutes.
How Samsung SSD recovery works
Samsung SSDs use Samsung's own controllers and encrypt data internally. When the controller or its firmware fails, the NAND chips cannot simply be read in another device — the controller's mapping is needed. We work at firmware level with professional lab equipment to bring the SSD into a readable state, image it safely, and rebuild your files. The chances depend on the exact model and fault, and we tell you honestly after the free diagnosis. Read more in SSD data recovery and SSD vs HDD recovery.
Samsung T5 / T7 portable SSDs
A T7 contains a small NVMe SSD and a USB bridge. If only the bridge or connector has failed, recovery is usually straightforward. If the internal SSD has failed, it is handled like any NVMe recovery. If you used password protection, you will need that password.
DataExpert is an independent lab, not an authorised Samsung service centre; Samsung and the model names are trademarks of Samsung Electronics.
What to do now
Power the SSD off, do not update or "repair" it, and bring it to our lab or book a free pickup across Pune and PCMC. For laptops with soldered storage see laptop data recovery.
Frequently asked questions
Can data be recovered from a dead Samsung SSD?
Often yes. When the controller, firmware or power circuit fails, the data on the NAND is usually still there. Chances depend on the model and fault, which we tell you after a free diagnosis.
My Samsung 870 EVO shows errors and files will not copy. What should I do?
Stop using it and do not run repair tools. Bring it in so the data can be imaged carefully before the errors grow.
Should I update my Samsung 980 PRO firmware first?
Only after your data is safe. Updating a drive that is already failing can make recovery harder.
Can you recover a Samsung T7 portable SSD?
Yes. If only the USB bridge failed, recovery is usually simple; if the internal SSD failed, it is an NVMe recovery.
How much does Samsung SSD recovery cost?
It depends on the model and fault. Diagnosis is free, the exact price comes before any work, and if no data is recovered you pay nothing.
